Next morning, I took a good look out of the hotel room window. Oh man.. I can see the neighbours! I could tell that this neighbour has a small kitchen... imagine that.

Can you see how narrow the gap is between the hotel and the next building??? |
This day, we decided to head out to 故宫 cus its a little far away and its one of the things we intended to do while in Taipei. Unfortunately, while we were on the subway, we saw that the train services on the red line had been disrupted because someone fell onto the tracks (I think he died...). So well, we decided to go to 五分埔. We arrived tooooo early.. it only opens in the afternoon and it was only 9am. Had a cuppa before we headed to the Taipei 101.

Even the hot coffee is served in a sealed cup |

On the bus |
While waiting for Taipei's malls to start the day, we wandered around a bit and got this pic..
|
Artistic right? |
It was still foggy and raining, so we didn't go up the 101. In the afternoon, we headed back to 五分埔 and found this cute shop. Bought myself 2 pairs of big spectacle frames at less than S$14 each! Shiok!
|
Nice quaint shop selling spectacle frames |
|
Told you the frames were big.. hahaha |
|
Here's a better angle -O.O- |
At night we went to the Sun Yat Sen memorial hall. I have a question - why is Sun Yat Sen called 孙中山? How did the translation arrive at that?
Anyway... we then went to Raohe night market, the oldest night market in Taipei.
Had something from a stall with a long queue..
This shop claims to have a history of a 100 years.
|
This shop only sells 3 items |
|
This is what they served |
After eating this, I wonder how they survived the 100 years... The noodles were gross... it was filled with the taste of the pig intestines that were inside. The oily rice was okay, though it reminded us why it was called OILY RICE.
